Misc. Works 1

This is a TAFL board I created, using a 12x16 piece of wood.  TAFL is a Viking Game.  There are multiple board sizes to TAFL, including 9x9, 11x11, and 13x13.  This board is an 11x11.  The playing pieces are colored glass, and the "King" is a pewter piece I got from another game.  On each of the 4 sides I carved Viking Longships, and there is a geometric pattern in the center.

This plaque is on of those images I came across, and could not get out of my head until I carved it.  IT features an image found on a picture stone in Arhus, Denmark.  I have not been able to find out much, if anything, about the image itself.  Speculation is that it may have represented a god, but this is not certain.

After having done the single Ringerike-style dragon, I found this image of two entwined Dragons.  It is almost done staining in a combination of Dark Walnut/Golden Oak.  This plaque is 8x10

Sleipnir, eight-legged horse belonging to Odin. This plaque was done with a base coat of Golden Pecan, for background and outside frame, with dark walnut in the foreground. I like the way this combination makes Sleipnir stand out. This plaque is 7x9.

This Rune Table started as a stepping stool that I found at a hobby store.  I added the Elder Futhark around the outside, and some Celtic inspired knot work and scrollwork on the inside.  It is finished using Golden Oak.
Check back soon! I am looking at more plate designs, table coasters, boxes, and other plaques. If you don't see it, but you want it...email me!!
