Thor's Hammers |

This hammer draws its inspiration from the Flag, of course, given its red white blue theme. It has been come to be called the Vinland Hammer. Beyond the red, white and blue, it is also stained using Colonial Pine (Light) and Red Oak (Dark). It has a gloss finish.

This Thor's Hammer is carved on an 8x10 plaque, with a half-rounded bottom (the shape I like for Thor's Hammer carvings). It is stained using Special Walnut, Dark Walnut, and Golden Oak. The inspiration for this Hammer was partially from Hammers found in Scandinavia, while the knot work in the center comes from the Hammer I wear every day. |

Another Thor's Hammer design I was playing around with. It still has the knotwork pattern on the inside, but the inner Hammer is made by depressing the carving, instead of raising it up, as with the hammer above. This one was stained in a combination of Special Walnut and Golden Pecan. The plaque itself is 8x10. |

Another Thor's Hammer design similar to the rounded plaque one above. This one is also an 8x10. |

Some friends of ours in Georgia had a daughter recently, and this Thor's Hammer was our birth-gift to her. I did some more intricate knot work on this one compared to previous carvings, with more undercutting to give the knots depth.
| Check back soon! I am looking at more plate designs, table coasters, boxes, and other plaques. If you don't see it, but you want it...email me!! | ||
